Hi all,
Seeing as how we won't be having a CWC this year, I was thinking of hosting one (lichess.org/forum/team-crazyhouse-world-championship/cwc-2023). However, because of the tight schedule, I thought it was best to still do some kind of big zh event, but not a proper CWC. For that reason, and to have a big zh event in 2023, I'm going to host a Crazyhouse World Cup, which will be a wholly separate event (and thus have a separate history) from the Crazyhouse World Championship. As has been tradition with the Crazyhouse World Championship, I encourage people to donate to the prize fund. Here are the details for the event:
1st Crazyhouse World Cup
Date: September 18 – December 10
*Format*
Qualification tournaments: 8 tournaments spread out over 2 weeks, 3 players advance from each tournament. 8 wild cards invited by the tournament organizer (FischyVishy).

Double elimination: 32 players. The grand final will be the same as the CWC grand final (so 60 games total). There will be no "resetted grand final" as there are already 60 games in the grand final.
Matches: Same format as CWC (lichess.org/forum/team-crazyhouse-world-championship/crazyhouse-world-championship-2021-tournament-structure-and-prizes?page=1)
Withdrawals / Disqualifications: lichess.org/forum/team-crazyhouse-world-championship/crazyhouse-world-championship-2021-tournament-structure-and-prizes?page=3#29
Note: If any rule is ambiguous or missing, we'll follow the CWC rules.
