Why does 59% of players start with 1. e4?

e4 best by test!

Because d4 is for nerds and anything other than d4 or e4 is for weirdos

Cuz e4 is more attacking than d4 or Nf3 or c4. e4 is for players that want to have fun and fill their brains with testosterone, while d4 and c4 and Nf3 is to have a nap and fill their brains with melatonine.

Cause that's what I first learnt as child ,same for others?

e4 is just better positionally overall.

I play c4, d4 and Nf3 and have not met Melodytonin. What is she like?

Both of them are hormones or molecules that does some actions in the brain. It's just a comparison for what e4 and d4/Nf3/c4 inspire in the face of the enemy. Melatonin is the sleeping hormon, you yawn at the board in d4 positions. And testosterone is ballsiness' hormone that make you look like a genius.
