Stronger player pool?

hahaahhahah...... playing for rating ? that was a good joke ....you make my day brighter thnks to you all.(play 4 the fun you chess maniacs)
@Drawish_Giri you might very well be right :D nobody likes to admit it but it is quite possible that I simply play much worse.

@horny-king I do mainly play for fun but I used this site as a mesurement of my progress - bringing my rating up meant I was getting better. in last year or so it goes only down which is a bit disturbing :/

the theory with the stronger rating pool is indeed just a theory. it might as well be wrong :)
Internet ratings to track improvement? Is that a new thing or something?
@BronsteinPawn well what other method would you suggest? OTB elo would matter if I played enough games which I do not. Also I just got my FIDE elo which made me hugely overrated so.. :D

How else should I keep track of my progress?
Chess players can naturally feel their improvement. It is just technique.
The problem might be that millions of games each day can lead to a drift which can be perceived in a couple of months. It's like high frequency trade; the 5th digit after the point can become significant when millions of games are played.

A personal remark: the ratings on this server seem to be pretty over-rated compared to the real life.
@Sarg0n I am aware of the overate thing - I was mostly using it to see whether I am going up or down. I am FIDE 1887 and even in my darkest days - which seem to be started this years August and ending nowhere near in the future - I am still able to perform over 2000 here.
What worries me is the decrease in rating - and I kinda hoped for it to be caused by something else than my poor play. Guess I was wrong :D
