Lichess Ranks

I think that if someone wishes to have a 'title' confirmed (GM or whatever) they should say who they really are :)
They do. The moderators know which titled player is who, they have to confirm who they are; but they don't have to release their identity to the public if they don't want to.
Obviously the moderators know titled players' real identities; I meant that I feel they should have to release their identity.
Absolutely NOT.
That's a good thing of lichess to be able to play anonym. If they don't want to release their identity they don't have to.

I'm sure lichess will never do something like that.
and the lichchess king as u called him ,detected as cheater, and now banned :)
So for now it's still random how one gets the LM title? I only see Blitzstream-twitch having it. Is there a way to apply for it?
Here is the distribution of ranks (all 48 of them) of go, a 2500 years old board game, taken from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_(game)#Ranks_and_ratings

Double-digit kyu: 30–21k: Beginner. 20–10k: Casual player
Single-digit kyu: 9–1k: Intermediate/club player
Amateur dan 1–7d (where 8d is special title): Advanced player
Professional dan 1–9p (where 10p is special title): Professionals

Really, folks, does chess needs this? I don`t really know what to think, I`ll just point out a few things and leave it open for discussion.
FIDE is in the business of selling titles, so for many people it`s nice the idea of having a free ranking system that involves everyone, from beginners to pros, more or less like the one of go(game). After all, thanks to lichess the LM title is already a reality, but what about all of the other players?
Again, I`m not saying that it should or should not be done, I`m just saying that it makes sense, and after all in go(game) it works fine. Once I had a cousin that played go in a club, from where he knew 4 guys that traveled every year from Brazil to Japan (exactly the other side of the world) to play in pro level go tourneys.
And secondarily: Does anyone doubt that cheating will go up if something like this is implemented?
