Why cant black move the queen?

I am so confused by this puzzle..

Why is black giving up the queen instead of the knight? After Re1 the position is clearly lost for black, but black has way more chances after Qh5, so why castle instead?

Qxf6 is coming. And if Qd4 then Bc3 followed by Bb5+ winning the queen anyway.

I think the engine prefers the bad exchange of a rook for a queen than losing a knight and a pawn. But as you say, it's lost for Black either way––so I wouldn't read too much into it.
