Leaving the game for a second

So I lost this totally winning position because I 'left' the game...

What happened is my computer decided to act up so I switched to my phone, and it took me all of three seconds. I got back to play the next move, but it said I had left the game.

This has happened to me a fair bit; oftentimes at work, when I have to precipitously switch between computer and phone

Perhaps give people slightly more time? Maybe ten seconds, before letting the other person claim victory. Just a suggestion :)
What about evaluating the position and only if the leaving player is equal or losing let the abandoned player claim the victory, otherwise letting him a draw?
We could also take time left into consideration.
Yeah I don't understand how it works, sometimes happened the same thing to me. On the other hand, it often happens that people rage quit in lost position and I have to wait 2 minutes before I can claim the win...
@rablador what if a guy is completely winning but he has no idea how to win, how can you tell if someone knows they are winning
@pls_resign +1
Implementing @rablador 's suggestion would have the consequence, that it is better for me, to leave a game, than to resign, because there is always a chance, that I misjudge the position.
Yeah, it wasn't 3 seconds. I do that all the time. It's not going to resign you after 3 seconds. I guarantee you switched out of it for a lot longer.

Following the game link and showing displaying move times lists 4.8 seconds for "move 11", which I would agree seems too quick, certainly in an even-ish game (unless the 4.8 is what was was prior to the dc, which seems counterintuitive).

The fact that white had a pretty clear tactic putting him 2+ points up must have been a bit annoying as well.

There was also some in the past about linking the time after dc to claim win to the length of the game. If this hasn't been implemented yet (chess.com implemented this feature after user suggestion fwiw) I would also suggest that lichess consider adopting that as well..
@bog601 I think what happened is you lost connection for a while before you realized your computer wasn't working anymore (probably longer than a minute). As far as I know, lichess gives the option to claim victory after ninety seconds.
While black did take a long time to play his last move in the game (49 seconds), the combined total is still only 54 seconds, and it this is with the assumption that white dc'ed immediately after his last move, which seems unlikely..
