I have heard of him but who is he??
What does he do?

AlphaZero is part of Google's DeepMind Artificial Intelligence Program. The goal of the program is to create a generalized artificial intelligence capable of beating humans at several tasks and games (and eventually other things).

@WallaceTwo It's not like Stockfish. Stockfish is a classical engine using alpha/Beta search and Alpha Zero is neural net trained with reinforcement learning. It's like saying chess is similar to World of Warcraft.

Unique about AlphaZero is, that it was only taught the rules of chess and then it taught itself how to play by playing 700000 games against itself.

he s puppet #2232 :) All AI use learning anyway. his little brother looks like a step forward though, an AI who can play ANY game without knowing rules beforehand, learn fast as hell and has exact memory (MuZero).
