I lost on time while my opponent's clock was running on my screen

My most recent game -- a 90+3 classical game -- was decided by timeout after nearly 160 minutes of play after I lost on time even though my opponent's clock was running on my screen. After 24 of his remaining 26 minutes expired, I noticed that he was spectating our game, and that our crosstable showed that he had won the game, despite my screen still showing that his clock was ticking down in an active position. After reloading the page, the game was over, and I had lost on time.

During the game, I received an orange notification on the bottom left of my screen announcing that Lichess would restart in 8 minutes. I can only imagine that my screen was desynchronized from the lichess server upon reset. I've checked the FAQ section and nothing has been written there to establish that I needed to refresh my page to see the active gamestate. I objectively outplayed my opponent and my path to victory was clear, yet after spending nearly three hours of my life on this game I was deprived of a hard-earned victory. Has anybody else experienced this?

Obviously I'm incredibly frustrated. Am I supposed to just eat the loss and continue playing on this server knowing that at any time I could have already lost on the clock while my opponent's clock was running down right in front of my eyes?
Well you'll know for next time when Lichess restarts you have to refresh page. There are hundreds of similar posts \threads like this, nearly one everyday usually in feedback forum , it's unfortunate but least now you know.
