New ratings!

Hello fellow lichess players,

Today we moved from ELO to Glicko2 for our rating system.

Glicko2 is a more complex but superior algorithm to calculate players relative strength. It's actually used by most serious chess organisations, like FICS.

As a result, all your rating history has been rewritten.
Please note that in the Glicko2 system, the default rating is 1500. So in average, lichess player ratings are now 300 points higher than before. And so they are now closer to the ratings that can be seen in other organisations.
closer?
comparison with comp programs= -600 elo
or with other chess sites = -550

Ok , was stonished by he new rate , i got my answer
Feels like my chesscube rating... Funnily enough, you start at 1500 on chess cube as well.
I like it, i was 2136 here before and it felt slow trying to gain rating at all, this change should improve that. But my normal ratings across other websites are usually 2100-2300, except for chesscube where I'm 2600+.
It was a bit of a shock. Was there some warning this would happen that I'd missed? Or was this done by elves in secret?
Why not just leave Elo rating and add to it 200 points? Elo start = 1400.. why not? Why a new revolution?
Pleases only new game statistics White and Black.
Because ELO is stupid compared to Glicko 2. ELO doesn't pay any attention to your past games.
>ELO doesn't pay any attention to your past games.

Well, right. I'm sure there are several of both advantages as well as disadvantages to that detail.
