Chess and inteligence corelation

I never seen this kind of topic in lichess, so out of pure curiosity (sry for bad eng) i wanted to ask you for your opinions about this? Do you think that being succesful in chess for certan period of time is better indicator of inteligence then, for example, being succesful in some jobs, in strategic video games in other sports etc? Maybe not.Or maybe you think chess and inteligence arent coreletad at all? Also let me know what do you think about IQ test accuracy. Hope you will give me your opinions :)
Edit:Sorry for bad english i cant expres my thoughts/questions very well in non-native languages
Since Djakov, Petrovski, Rudik, 1927, there is not really something new about this question. The short answer is: If you start from an average IQ there is no correlation.
@annoygenius Thanks for your answer! Imo chess definetly helps creativity a lot more then in doing job, noone reques chess title when they are testing you for job. But inteligent itself is important in both chess and jobs.
I'm not sure this topic has been researched in depth. I think controlled experiments would be difficult to do morally as well.
I think, being good in chess is a good indication that he possessed high intelligence. But intelligence alone is not a guarantee that people will strive to success. I think human intelligence without the guidance of The Almighty God ,it will only lead to chaos and destruction. (Sorry for bad English, but I hope you get my message.)
@Venividivici321, chess has been show to have a slight increasing effect on your IQ.
Here is the bottom line however.
1) IQ does not represent intelligence, it only tests academic(mathematical, strategic, etc) intelligence. There are plenty of other kinds of intelligence however, mechanical, emotional, physical, etc. When most people think of "smart" however, they think of the first one, IQ intelligence.
Yes, in general people who are very good at chess have higher than average IQ, or higher than average, "smarts". But why is this? Did the chess cause the IQ or the other way around? The other way around for sure. People with the kind of mind that scores high on an IQ test tend to be attracted to the game of chess more so than other people because of the way they think and the things that they like to do. Chess draws high IQ people, it is not that high IQ people are better(although that may be true), it is that people with high IQ like it more.
Although there is no real relationship between chess and intelligence, there is no doubt that, for many people, the tradition and prestige of chess leads them to think that it is something of educated, sophisticated, intelligent, profound (but also boring, rare and minority) people.
Some of these topics are shared by fans of video games and e-sports, although I think they are seen as more popular and therefore require less intelligence (which is not necessarily true).
