How to counter fried liver attack?

In many games, after my opponent does the fried liver attack, I am left with a horrible position. Does anyone know how to counter it?
On move 5 in the main line, play 5... Na5. Black usually has a better position.
I actually really like the 5. .. b5 line. I'm sure it has its drawbacks, but from what I've seen from it, I like it.
The best way to counter the Fried-Liver Attack is to play the Traxler Counter Attack: 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Ng5 Bc5!?
If white plays 5.Nxf7 then black replies with 5...Bxf2+!! There are many, many high level Grandmaster games that are won by black with this defense. Please check out the following notes on the Traxler:

Please read the comments section of the above videos as there are *many* good comments regarding the Traxler Counter-Attack sub variations (especially part 3 of the video series).

If white plays 5.Bxf7+ then here is an excellent example of how to handle that move: Viswanathan Anand vs Alexander Beliavsky 1991 (0-1):

Here is another very good example of what happens when white gets too greedy in the Traxler Counter-Attack:
Bc5 is not better than d5. Bc5 is the traxler and I know traxler theory more than any other opening xD. d5 is much more solid but not many know how to play the traxler correct and if you are rated below 2300 the traxler is mostly sound. :Suspicious eyes insert here: its not sound at all really but it is difficult to face if your opponent playing black is well booked in it. I might decide to make a traxler study group since the database both chessbase and the lichess db are not much help if you want to know the latest theory. But I don't want to reveal my otb preparation since I know a few look at my studies from my otb club and they play the frid liv regularly. I might make it private and invite only though. :)

Also the "Fried liver declined" aka mainline. With Na5 is sound if you know what you are doing. Its pretty easy to get an advantage with black and quite boring. I might play it against a well prepared otb player against the traxler but the traxler is a very good weapon if you are ether several hundred points higher than your opponent or way more booked than they are. Those Gunjun videos are not complete theory and a few critical lines are missing.
the traxler.. it's ok. i've played it.
if you actually enjoy these kinds of irrational positions and the possibility to win some games without making a single move of your own, it should be pretty rewarding.

it doesn't really matter how "sound" it is (no one will be able to "refute" it without specific prep, not even anand couldn't), but it's way too much effort to put in a line that you're only going to play in 5% or something of your games.
and make no mistake - it DOES require effort, since black's the one who has to demonstrate compensation.

on the other hand, in the positions after 4..d5 5..Na5, you are just putting your pieces on good squares while white is poorly developed, and if you screw up you're just down a pawn.
i don't mind high-risk high-reward active lines, but you already have very reasonable alternatives for active play in the two knights.

ultimately it's about what YOU find fun and worth investing time on. as far as results are concerned, i wouldn't recommend it.
@lightsss can you post some of your master games?
You know Anand was distracted at the posted game and lost.. It happens to everyone. He was also very young and inexperienced at the time.. It is not an instructive game.
